EPA Recognizes GM for Partner of the Year - Sustained Excellence
DETROIT, March 28, 2016 /3BL Media/ – General Motors earned its fifth U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year award for leadership in protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency. The company continues to find ways to cut energy each year and reduced energy by 5.6 percent per vehicle in 2015 at its U.S. manufacturing plants.
In building a sustainability culture at GM, we engage employees throughout our global operations - from the C-suite to the plant floor.
Employee engagement is key to any company’s sustainability success story. The majority of GM’s 220,000 employees around the world support our global manufacturing operations. That’s 171 plants from Cairo to Kaiserslautern working to continually reduce our carbon footprint and connect with our communities.
