Shedd is first cultural institution to dive into national initiative with nutritious partnership between Healthy Fare for Kids and Sodexo
CHICAGO, March 26, 2013 /3BL Media/ - Just in time for spring break, Shedd Aquarium is cooking up a selection of healthy food choices for children ages 12 and under through a new partnership with Healthy Fare for Kids and Sodexo, the aquarium’s food service provider. This unique offering makes Shedd the first cultural institution to align with Healthy Fare for Kids, a national initiative, bringing healthy options to more than 750,000 young aquarium guests each year.
Youth have a hunger to be meaningfully engaged in solving issues and by educating kids about the most effective and profitable approaches to giving back we can help promote opportunities that will enact greater social impact. Like most things, you need to model the behavior that you seek. Don’t forget to take the time to include your kids in looking at the why and how of giving back.
More than 170 underprivileged and at-risk children were treated to a fun day at the fair on July 26, 2012, thanks to Kaiser Permanente. Through our Community Benefit program, Kaiser Permanente in the Greater Sacramento Region supports more than 50 agencies. In addition to grant funding, KP supports the community by extending opportunities that are beneficial to the clients served by these agencies -- fun and unique opportunities like attending the State Fair.
