As part of our commitment to our veterans and providing relief and finding solutions to end homelessness in Las Vegas, we continue to support Veterans Village and their housing project, The Village by Sands Cares. The new housing development will consist of ten fully transformed and furnished shipping container units for our veterans in downtown Las Vegas.

Since 2015, Las Vegas Sands has made addressing the homelessness issue in its corporate headquarters its primary issue. We have a core focus on youth homelessness, along with targeted initiatives that can strongly impact all people experiencing homelessness in our community. Our commitment involves a three-pronged strategy that leverages our position as a major business leader to be a catalyst for change: delivering immediate relief, driving long-term problem-solving, and advocating for change.
Republic Services’ Las Vegas employees volunteered to help build student and community gardens as part of an initiative to install 12 gardens in one day. Republic volunteers had a great time working with the students and volunteers at Schofield Middle School and Gehring Elementary School in Las Vegas, NV.
Responsible landfill management involves the proper handling of landfill gas and liquids, which are byproducts of the decomposition of waste. It requires considerable science, engineering and technology to manage an evolving waste stream in a manner that is protective of the air, land and water for generations to come. It also involves a relentless commitment to innovation.
The weather was beautiful, the desert was vast and our more than 180 volunteers at @TheMint400Race cleanup in LasVegas crushed it! They filled more than eight 30-yard containers with trash left in the desert, leaving the city cleaner for all.
In an effort to ‘reuse and recycle’ excess inventory following a complete hotel renovation in 2015 and 2016, Sands Bethlehem hosted its third annual Team Member art sale. For one day, Sands Bethlehem Team Members were able to purchase the art pieces at discounted prices.
