Over the last few weeks, Lilly has been advocating for greater public investments in high-quality early education.  Our partner, the United Way of Central Indiana, has been doing great work in this area for quite some time.  However, our city – and ultimately, the State of Indiana – must provide more public funds to accelerate the work.

Last week, the PM360 Trailblazer Awards in New York City named Lilly the Pharmaceutical/Biotech Company of the Year. As I accepted the honor on behalf of our company, I thought about what this award says about the impact we make on people and communities across the globe.

Lilly: Counting Down to Global Day of Service

In just one week, more than 8,400 Lilly employees in nearly 60 countries will embark upon our seventh annual Global Day of Service. Since its inception in 2008, our volunteers have given nearly 625,000 hours of service back to the communities where we work and live. That’s 625,000 hours of service translated into hundreds of projects, from murals and plantings to work tying directly to our business strengths.
