Jake Peavy goes from pitching baseball to playing guitar for his foundation’s annual benefit concert.

Peavy’s Hero Jam was held on March 13 at LiveWire in the heart of the city’s Entertainment District with proceeds benefiting the United Service Organization’s Transition 360 Alliance. The national initiative helps U.S. military personnel and their families successfully transition back into civilian life after their active military service ends.

Sam Fuld, Major Leaguers Come Together to Raise Money for Type1 Diabetes


Twelve Major Leaguers from eight different clubs played in the 2nd annual Sam Fuld SLAMDiabetes Tampa Classic Wiffle ball tournament at the University of South Florida on Dec. 12 to fund camps for children who have Type 1 diabetes.

Chris Archer, Jose Bautista, Chris Colabello, Slade Heathcott, Dan Jennings, Kevin Kiermaier, Andrew Miller, Matt Moore, Logan Morrison, John Ryan Murphy and Denard Span joined Fuld for the tournament.

NEW YORK, October 15, 2015 /3BL Media/ – The Major League Baseball Players Association and Major League Baseball are jointly contributing $250,000 to assist victims of the devastating floods that have ravaged parts of South Carolina.

Some of the hardest hit areas in South Carolina are those that many current and former Major Leaguers call home.  With that in mind, and after consultation with several area Players, the $250,000 contribution is being divided among three charitable organizations capable of lending assistance to the neediest victims.

Players Trust Kicks off 2015 Buses for Baseball Program in Texas


Arlington, Texas—The first Buses for Baseball event of the 2015 season kicked off on Thursday, June 4,  at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Texas, when 50 individuals from Rae’s Hope, a local Dallas based charity, were treated to an unforgettable day at the ballpark as the personal guests of the Players Trust and Rangers players. This one-of-a-kind ballpark visit included free roundtrip transportation, tickets, souvenirs, food and beverages and personal greetings by more than 10 Texas Rangers players.

Robinson Cano is bringing Latin flair and A-list celebrities to his fundraiser in Seattle on the evening of Wednesday June 3.

Major Leaguers & Players Trust Bring City Clinics to Harlem and NYC School for Autistic Kids


Six Yankees players -- Chris Martin, Andrew Miller, John Ryan Murphy, Alex Rodriguez, Chasen Shreve and Chase Whitley – converged at the Harlem RBI field in New York on Friday as the Players Trust hosted a heartfelt City Clinic for more than 50 kids from the NYC Autism Charter School.

The players gave more cheers and high fives than hard instruction as the autistic kids demonstrated their baseball skills and home run trots in front of happy crowd of parents, teachers and supporters.

Yankees Pitcher Chris Capuano Concludes Action Team Conference Calls for 2014-15


Chris Capuano told Action Team student volunteers from around the country that providing assistance to the less fortunate helps him put into context the professional pressures he faces as a pitcher in the Major Leagues.

“Volunteering gives you that perspective,” the Yankees left-hander told the Action Team Captains in the program’s April teleconference. “I know I am dealing with something tough right now but it’s nothing I can’t work through.” 

Action Team Scholarship Winners Bask in the Spotlight


During Volunteer Appreciation Week, the Players Trust awarded scholarships to 20 high school students from across the country who distinguished themselves in their service with the  Action Team national volunteer program.
