When I used to sit down with friends and family to enjoy a meal together I didn’t think much about where the food I ate was coming from. All of that changed when I moved into a role leading a team that focuses on addressing some of the biggest food safety challenges facing the global food supply chain.

Today, on World Food Day, it is the perfect opportunity to reflect on our Food ecosystem.
For those of you who aren’t familiar with World Food Day, it is designed by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organisation to raise awareness of current challenges and how we can overcome them in order to deliver Sustainable Development Goal 2 – Zero Hunger.
This year, the theme is encouraging action to make healthy and sustainable diets affordable and accessible to everyone. At the same time, it calls on everyone to start thinking about what we eat.

The workshop sponsored by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Mars, Inc. and Paul G. Allen Philanthropies, convened a unique multi-disciplinary coalition of scientists, NGOs, coral restoration practitioners, Government and business, in Bali, Indonesia.
