Last week, Maven Gig launched in Austin, a city ranked at the top of best cities lists with accolades such as “Greenest City in America,” and rated as one of the Best Cities for Recent College Grads. The Austin launch marked the first all-electric fleet for Gig, utilizing the Chevrolet Bolt EV as the sole vehicle offered.

General Motors has designed the Chevrolet Volt and Bolt EV for markets across all 50 states and around the world – a demonstration of the company’s commitment to electrification. While growing the electric-vehicle market is a more complex challenge than simply bringing a new car to the dealership showroom, Chevrolet focuses on marketing and education efforts to help drive consumer adoption.
GM’s car-sharing brand Maven recently expanded to include Maven Gig, an enabler for the sharing economy. This new platform provides the Chevrolet Bolt EV to freelance gig drivers who do not have access to a vehicle. The service supports people maximizing their earning potential, while helping add more electric vehicles to the streets.
