Carnival Cruise Line and the Houston Texans teamed up to host the first-ever Summer Kickoff event recently with a variety of fun activities for kids at the Havard Boys & Girls Club in Houston.

The event also included a $10,000 donation from Carnival Cruise Line to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. Additionally, for every Houston Texans Bear sold at a Build-A-Bear Workshop stores in the Houston area during the month of July, a portion of the proceeds will go to the Boys & Girls Clubs.

To date the event has impacted nearly 140 homes, engaged 5,000 volunteers and invested more than $5 million to communities in need. This year, 200 corporate and community volunteers will participate in various critical home repairs, accessibility modifications, painting, landscaping and other major home rehabilitations.
