Whirlpool Corporation was recognized as a Veteran Friendly Employer for the fifth year in a row by Victory Media. Victory Media publishes GI Jobs, Military Spouse and other military related media, and reviews hundreds of companies in search of those that are truly “veteran friendly.” This year, Whirlpool is being recognized for the first time as a Bronze-Level Friendly Employer. Whirlpool was also recognized in 2018 as a Military Spouse Friendly Employer and a Military Friendly Brand.

10th Annual KitchenAid Day of Caring – Leadership Changes, but the Message Stays the Same

On June 19th, KitchenAid celebrated its tenth year of hosting a volunteer project called the “Day of Caring.” Almost 200 employee volunteers in Southwest Michigan and more than 300 employees globally, participated this year.
The very first Day of Caring was the brainchild of former KitchenAid General Manager, Dave Elliott and Senior Administrative Assistant, Chris Ringer.

Local Vet Receives Laundry Pair from Whirlpool Veteran’s Association and Blue Star Mothers

Since 2013, the Whirlpool Veterans Association (WVA), in partnership with Blue Star Mothers, has looked for opportunities to help active duty, reservists, and military veterans in Southwest Michigan. As part of these efforts, the two organizations were recently able to provide local veteran Scott Spearitt with a new Whirlpool brand washer and dryer.
The Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) honored multiple home appliance industry professionals for exceptional contributions to the industry during AHAM’s 2019 Annual Member Meeting from April 27-30 in Washington, D.C. One of those individuals was Laura Siegrist, senior manager, Government Relations for Whirlpool Corporation, who was recognized with the Emerging Leader Award for contributions to federal advocacy for the home appliance industry.
Whirlpool Corporation announced earlier this month that 2019 is the 50th anniversary of its sustainability commitment. As far back as 1969, the company’s CEO talked about how programs to reduce Whirlpool’s impact on the environment had already proven to be a smart investment in the company’s future.
