PISCATAWAY, N.J., November 19, 2019 /3BL Media/ ― “Where is the toilet?” Every November 19th on World Toilet Day, LIXIL’s employees think about this question in a different way.
Many of us in developed countries often expect a simple answer. But the reality is that for 2 billion people, there is no straightforward response to this simple question. They do not have access to basic sanitation.
On World Toilet Day, LIXIL now aims to drive even further awareness of this critical issue through its own social media awareness campaign: #whereisthetoilet.
Community outreach took center stage this October, with LIXIL employees nationwide going out into the communities in which we work and live to give back through local park cleanups to fighting hunger and beyond. LIXIL Community Day, which began in 2017, sees executives and employees from all workplaces and regions around the world take part in social contribution activities during working hours.
LIXIL, a maker of pioneering water and housing products, had joined force with Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to be the first Presenting Partner for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Torch Relay.
As a Tokyo 2020 Gold Partner, with the slogan ‘Change the future through OMOIYARI & OMOTENASHI,’ LIXIL has been orchestrating activities to make better living a reality for everyone, such as the ‘Universal Run’ program for children to experience what it’s like to use a prosthetic leg for sports.
We are proud to be a part of the Facing Homelessness Seattle BLOCK project. Recently, hosts and newlyweds Kathryn and Jeffrey selflessly welcomed Mark to live in their backyard BLOCK Home. Mark was a journalist when he learned he had congestive heart failure. The newspaper he worked for was unable to carry him, so after getting out of the hospital Mark became homeless for six months.
