SAP is teaming with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) to develop CancerLinQ, a big data solution that will transform care for cancer patients. The collaboration brings data and expertise from ASCO, a non-profit physician group with over 35,000 members worldwide, onto SAP HANA. CancerLinQ will give doctors new insights in seconds when they are deciding on personalized treatment plans with patients.

Points of Light, an organization dedicated to volunteer service, and its partner Bloomberg have announced their annual Civic 50 list of good corporate citizens. The Civic 50 chooses the 50 most community-minded companies in the U.S. as evaluated in an annual survey. Winners were chosen based on four criteria of community engagement: investment of resources, integration of program with business strategy, institutionalization of support, and measured impact. All U.S. companies with revenues of $1 billion or more were eligible for this year’s list.

The SAP Palo Alto office transformed into a workspace for 60 middle school girls on a Saturday this fall. Giving up their day off and getting out of their comfort zones, these middle school students were there for a day-long workshop in computer science and technology – Girlsmarts4tech. The hope? To inspire these young women to pursue careers in tech.
