Mucho Corazón (A Lot of Heart), a new Entertainment-Education television drama, captured the hearts of viewers across Chiapas, Mexico during its debut on Wednesday, January 25th. The drama, the result of an exciting partnership between the State Government of Chiapas and PCI-Media Impact (Media Impact), a leader in Entertainment-Education programs, is helping spread the word about the importance of sustainable development, gender equity and respect for Indigenous Peoples.
Together with our partners throughout the world, Media Impact uses the best of humanity’s creative spirit and innovation to produce powerful, results-driven programs. This year, we will continue to work with organizations around the world to inspire and empower communities to educate young girls, promote gender equality and stop violence against women. We have included information about two of these projects below.
We hope you will consider joining us in promoting the rights of women.
Ponle Corazon!, a new televisions soap opera to empower women launched during a five-day partner workshop in Rancho Santa Lucia, Mexico.
More than 30 participants - all received personal invitations from the First Lady of Chiapas - actively engaged during the workshop during which the program’s framework - the values grid - was produced, main characters defined and a central storyline created to encompass all the issues the drama will address.
Corazon de Mujer narrates the story of three generations of women as they seek to change the reality of their circumstances. The storyline touches on the fibers of the audiences’ daily life and brings listeners close to the daily struggles of Chiapas women. Complementary talk shows provide audience members with critical information and the encouragement to face challenges and move forward.
