Verizon announced today that it will invest nearly $40 million to expand the on-site green energy program that it launched in 2013. This year, Verizon will install 10.2 megawatts of new solar power systems at eight Verizon network facilities in five states — California, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York. This investment nearly doubles the amount of renewable power generated by solar energy systems installed at six Verizon facilities last year.

In addition to helping the consortium quantify strategies and test results in advance for better decision-making, AECOM provided technical experience using the company’s climate action planning toolkit.
The food industry uses packaging made from a variety of materials, including plastic, cardboard, polystyrene, and I could go on. Unfortunately, not all of these materials are recyclable. Cascades decided to take a close look at one type of packaging in particular: polycoated packaging. Across the world, two tonnes of polycoated cardboard are used every minute – that’s enough to cover the Empire State Building three times/hour! We had to find a solution!
