Global outdoor lifestyle brand Timberland is hosting its annual Serv-a-Palooza volunteer initiative in more than 19 countries throughout the months of September and October. Through Serv-a-palooza, Timberland employees, partners and community members come together with the common goal to meet critical needs and create sustainable impact around the globe -- from its headquarters in Stratham, New Hampshire to Milan, Hong Kong, Mexico City and beyond.
Timberland’s Global Leadership Team recently cooked and served dinner to 75 residents of Cross Roads House, non-profit organization that supports community members who are experiencing – or have recently experienced -- homelessness. The team, which had convened at the outdoor lifestyle brand’s global headquarters in Stratham NH for a strategy meeting, dedicated the afternoon to serve the local community together.
Timberland continues to gain recognition for its efforts to reintroduce cotton farming to Haiti through an agroforestry program that will also improve the lives of smallholder farmers and help to reforest the country. This week, the global outdoor lifestyle brand was named a finalist for the U.S.
Friday, August 3rd was a big day for Timberland associates in Hong Kong as they hosted the first annual Timberland Career Day for disadvantaged youth. The global outdoor lifestyle brand partnered with Project Share, a local nonprofit organization that helps improve the social mobility of Hong Kong youth in disadvantaged and marginal areas of the city.
Smallholder farmers near Gonaives, Haiti recently planted the first commercial cotton crop in the country since 1987, with support from Timberland and other brands. The farmers planted a demonstration farm which will train other smallholder farmers to cultivate cotton. As a key supporter of the effort, Timberland provided participating farmers with shirts as a symbol of the future market for the cotton they planted.
Timberland recently joined Rotary members and leaders from around the world in Toronto at the Rotary Peacebuilding Summit, part of the 109th annual Rotary International Convention. The Summit marked the culmination of a series of presidential peacebuilding conferences held since February in different locations around the world.
This spring, Timberland employees kicked off their 11th annual Victory Garden season at the brand’s global headquarters in Stratham, NH. Each year, dozens of employee volunteers pull on their boots and slip on their gardening gloves to plant, weed, water and harvest the many vegetables and fruits grown just outside the building’s front entrance. This year’s crops include tomatoes, raspberries, zucchini, summer squash, string beans, cucumbers, peppers, cut flowers, radishes, eggplant, carrots and onions.
A team of Timberland employees joined NBC10 Boston’s Matt Noyes at Hampton Beach to contribute to NBC/Universal’s Supporting Our Schools Campaign. End 68 Hours of Hunger puts nourishing food in the hands of school children in need, to carry them through the weekend.
