UGA Miracle raises $1.1M for Children’s Healthcare

More than 1,000 students and community members strapped hospital bands on their wrists and raised $1,144,453.19 for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta during UGA Miracle’s 24 hour Dance Marathon Saturday and Sunday in Tate Grand Hall. This is the fourth consecutive year that this student organization has raised more than $1 million.

The Georgia Department of Transportation, The Land Institute, and The Ray have implemented a pilot demonstration on the right-of-way: perennial wheat farming. For the next three years, the pilot project, which uses KernzaⓇ perennial grain, will be monitored by The University of Georgia's Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Program Director and a Master of Landscape Architecture student from UGA.

Anderson Foundation has awarded $331,000 in grants to 23 different organizations and institutions, bringing the total granted since the Foundation’s launch in 2012 to just over $2.8 million.  Grants are awarded to a mix of nonprofits and academic institutions, ranging from those that provide environmental education to those that are doing hands-on work in conservation and remediation. Named for the founder of Interface, Inc., the Ray C.
