IU students trade interview suits and ties for hard hat and hammer
Benton Harbor, Mich., Sept. 17, 2013 /3BL Media/ – As students get into the swing of things with a new school year, students at Indiana University Bloomington will swing hammers alongside Whirlpool Corporation [NYSE: WHR] employees and members from Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County. Beginning with Indiana University’s Sept. 14 football game against the Bowling Green Falcons, Whirlpool employees, IU’s Kelley School of Business students and faculty will team up to build a new Habitat for Humanity home in partnership with a Bloomington family.
On March 27, 2013, the Whirlpool Corporation Findlay Division held a ground breaking ceremony as the start of what will be a Habitat for Humanity home. The house will become the home for Ashley Reinhart and her children, Cameron and Isabella.
Construction on the home will begin on May 17 with a foundation preparation day. Then, the home will be built from June 1-14. This will be the fourth Habitat for Humanity home built by the Findlay Division, all on land donated by Whirlpool Corporation.
