So how do you picture sustainability?

GRI needs your images! A new competition is now offering all photographers and artists the opportunity to contribute to GRI’s visual identity and communications.GRI’s vision is a sustainable global economy. To help fulfill its mission of mainstreaming sustainability reporting, GRI will launch a new website later this year.  GRI’s website is a global point of reference in the growing sustainability field, with exceptional reach.  The new website will be the main platform for winning entries.

The competition is open to all artists and photographers to create compelling, engaging images related to sustainability. The tone and feeling of the images should be positive and aspirational. Images should also demonstrate varied perspectives, from business to interpersonal actions to exploring cultural diversity.

New photographs are important to GRI but it is not just a photography competition. Entrants may work with a variety of media, and can submit work of any size, from photo-essays to a single image that captures their personal take on sustainability.  Sustainability is the overall theme but the interpretation is all yours!

The overarching theme of the contest is "sustainability" – which is open to interpretation. However, it is encouraged, but not obligatory, to include some images related to industry sectors - Oil and gas, Financial services, Airport Operators, Construction and real estate, Electrical utilities, Event Organizers, Food Processing, NGO, Mining and Metals and Media.

The contest will be judged  by  members of the GRI website development team. The winner will be announced Wednesday 6 July in the GRI’s newsletter.
