On June 8, 2009, the Company acquired additional 26% interest in its Indian subsidiary, Novartis India Ltd. On August 25, 2010, Novartis completed the acquisition of a further 52% interest in Alcon, Inc. (Alcon). On June 1, 2010, the Company completed the acquisition of Oriel Therapeutics Inc. On February 3, 2010, the Company completed the acquisition of Corthera Inc. On April 8, 2011, the Company completed the merger of Alcon, Inc.
