The fifth annual Sustainable Packaging Forum will bring together nearly 400 packaging professionals and sustainability executives from a variety of organizations including leading consumer packaged goods companies. In two and half days you will:
- Hear about the current and future economic realities of sustainable packaging and its impact on your innovation efforts, production and procurement initiatives, and supply chain
- Meet brand owners, CPG companies, packaging converters and suppliers who face the same challenges and could help boost your sustainability targets
- Understand current trends, issues, and technologies in package sustainability that will affect your future initiatives
- Network with attendees before, during, and after the Forum at the event AND on the Sustainable Packaging Forum's event page on Justmeans.
The Sustainable Packaging Forum is produced by Packaging Strategies. Since 1983, Packaging Strategies has delivered unbiased, industry news and analysis to the world's packaging leaders via our semi-monthly newsletter, conferences, and industry studies and reports.
CSR Video Updates: Interview with Mike Centers, President, BioCor
Mike Centers has been in the Environmental Service industry for the past 20 years. Mike’s success in this industry has been based on demonstrating value to clients via compliance to existing waste reduction and recycling laws and regulations. As the executive director for BioCor, Mike believes the time has come to consolidate PLA scrap in the recycling industry. Mike has been actively involved in the recycling industry in California since 1993 and has extensive experience in collections, processing and marketing recycled beverage containers made of glass, plastic and aluminum.
Prior to joining BioCor, Mike held VP Western Region responsibilities for Tomra North America and Strategic Materials, Inc. Both companies had extensive recycling networks throughout the Western region of North America (from Seattle to Mexico to Denver and west to Hawaii). Mike is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he played four years of Army football and graduated in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in operations research. Mike served five years as an Army Aviator and left the service to attend Harvard Business School, graduating in 1989.
Mike has founded two companies in the recycling industry: Titus Maintenance & Installation Services, a company that designs, installs and maintains equipment for the single-stream curbside recycling industry, and CMMA LLC, a consulting company that advises firms on collection and processing of curbside recycling and the impact of environmental laws to their businesses. Mike holds a successful patent for a sorting system used to clean glass from paper for curbside single-stream material with 15 installed systems in the United States.
