Symantec Discusses Green IT on the Discovery Channel

Symantec was featured on The Discovery Channel's The Green Room program, Saturday, February 13.


The 30-minute program features Symantec’s eco-friendly accomplishments around reducing energy consumption in our data centers and the savings realized by our customers, alongside the efforts of other industry leaders like JP Morgan and GE Aviation.


The Symantec segment features interviews with Chief Technology Officer Mark Bregman, Jose Iglesias, Vice President of Engineering, and Forrester Analyst Doug Washburn, each discussing the environmental and financial benefits that come from employing energy-saving solutions to common IT problems.


Employing technologies such as data de-duplication, storage tiering, n+1 clustering, and endpoint power management is resulting in an average of 20% reduction in data center power usage and energy expense.
