Formed in 2006 by the merger of two large trusts, Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) is one of the largest acute teaching trusts in the United Kingdom. NUH is the principal provider of acute general, specialist, and tertiary hospital care for the 2.5 million people who live in Nottingham and surrounding communities.

NUH's old system of administering Hospital@Night relied on a pager/phone system involving seven steps with several iterations. The administration was complex, inefficient, raised questions about safety, and had poor levels of staff satisfaction. After embracing Cisco Cius as part of its Collaboration Architecture, NUH dramatically improved Hospital@Night operational efficiency saving 8,000 clinical hours annually.
