Social Media for Social Good at #SIS12

The upcoming Social Innovation Summit is going to be a great event fostering unique conversations and giving participants the chance to interact in dynamic, interactive workshops. In particular, the “Social Media for Social Good” workshop, held on May 30th, at 3:30 p.m., will be chaired by Waggener Edstrom’s very own Jennifer Houston, President of Studio D.

This workshop will feature social media change makers who understand the value of using digital platforms to create awareness around an issue and generate engagement that move ideas forward to promote positive change. The panelists and roundtable moderators for this exciting workshop include:

  • Sree Sreenivasan, Dean of Student Affairs, Columbia Graduate School of Journalism
    • Sree Sreenivasan is a professor and Dean of Student Affairs at Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where he teaches in the digital media program, including social media and digital entrepreneurship. He is also a freelance social-media blogger for CNET, where he writes the SreeTips blog. He’s created learning opportunities such as Social Media Weekend, Social Media One-Night Stand and more.

Libby was the Co-Anchor of “Facebook Live”, the company's official video streaming channel, during the 2011 and 2012 World Economic Forum meetings in Davos, Switzerland.
