Lost and wasted food also contributes to climate change, generating about 8 percent of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and consuming around 25 percent of water used in agriculture.

Kellogg Company has joined the Business for Innovative Climate & Energy Policy (BICEP) coalition. BICEP is a project of Ceres that was launched in 2008 with a core group of five companies including Starbucks and Nike. Today, 32 well-known companies are a part of BICEP. The members of BICEP are advocates for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.Â
