If the value of all goods and services produced by the Latino community in the U.S. were a standalone economy, it would be the 7th largest in the world. Today, there are 4.37 million Hispanic-owned businesses in the U.S., which contribute more than $700 billion to the economy annually, according to the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. These businesses have provided almost 2.7 million jobs to U.S. workers.
In 2018, PayPal anonymously surveyed a large sample of its hourly and entry-level employees to assess their financial security. The results indicated that almost two-thirds of surveyed employees reported periodically running out of money between paydays. This was disappointing and surprising, but provides a valuable lesson to other leaders: Although PayPal's internal analysis showed that it paid at or above market value for each of its employees, the wages were not always sufficient for many families.

But access to these physical, virtual and social networks is not equally available, and Black people have been deliberately excluded from these networks.
The consequences of global climate change are not a distant problem. They are real and plainly visible today. Raging wildfires are once again devastating forests across the Western United States, with smoke spreading east across the continent, causing unhealthy or hazardous air quality for millions. Just last month, monsoons wreaked havoc in India as a year’s worth of rain fell in just one month. History shows that it is the world’s poorest and most disadvantaged communities that bear the brunt of the financial blow that often accompanies climate events.
Furthering longstanding financial inclusion efforts to bring more people and small businesses into the digital economy, the company will bring equitable financial tools, investment and partnerships to cities across the U.S.
