New project focuses on the intersection of health, equity, climate and prosperity, among other issues
GENEVA, Switzerland, 21 April 2021 /3BL Media/ - As the issue of health continues to rise up the global agenda in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, member companies from the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) have come together to launch a new project to advance global health and wellbeing.
Across the United States, more than 2,800 community health clinics provide free and low-cost healthcare to more than 32 million people. Many of these patients have household incomes near or below the federal poverty level and are located in areas facing climate-related burdens, such as exposure to air pollution, dangerous heat waves, and extreme weather events. The climate crisis is increasingly viewed a global health crisis that disproportionately impacts low-income communities.
Saturday, April 17 marks the culmination of the three-year Fueling Good, Rebuilding Lives charitable partnership between CITGO and Rebuilding Together Houston. Appropriately, TeamCITGO volunteers will gather to repaint a local residence in the Independence Heights community.
Launched to help Houston-area communities in need recover from 2017's Hurricane Harvey, the program has done enormous good in the community, supporting the renovation of more than 186 homes for those in need in the Independence Heights community and surrounding areas.
National Parks Conservation Association honors partner for contributions to national park protection
