Oct. 19, 2016 /3BL Media/ - Ideagen, the world’s leading cross-sector innovation and collective impact member network where the world’s leading corporations, NGO’s, and public sector organizations convene to innovate and collaborate, hosted the Second Annual Ideagen Global Good Summit at Global Good & Research by Intellectual Ventures in Seattle, Washington on October 6, 2016.

Special thanks to Global Good & Research by Intellectual Ventures for hosting the summit, and special thanks to the presenting organizations: AARP, Lumina Foundation, Amway, and Vodafone.

Leadership from across the sectoral spectrum came together to discuss cross-sector innovation, impact leadership and collective impact. Welcome remarks and introductions were delivered by Maurizio Vecchione, SVP Global Good and Research at Intellectual Ventures; George Sifakis, Founder and CEO of Ideagen; Dr. Kenneth Moritsugu, Chair Emeritus of Ideagen; and Sidhant Gupta, Chair of the Ideagen Board - Microsoft.

Award winning Director James Keach, from PCH Films and former Creative Artists Agent Eric Carlson of CK&D were announced as the new Ideagen Films for Good Co-Chairs and presented an exclusive Rough Cut of STEAMPower documentary at Microsoft’s Building 99 highlighting: “The power of storytelling to change the world” capturing what the education system for girls in Rwanda entails.

Presenters from the world’s leading organizations included Evan Rapoport, Project Manager of X (formerly known as Google X); Simon Bland, Director of New York UNAIDS; Chantal Line Carpentier, Chief of New York UNCTAD; James Keach, Award Winning Director and CEO of PCH Films; in addition a video greeting from Jeff Terry, Global Head of Corporate Social Responsibility of Amway.

Ideagen Power Panels and Ideation Sessions were moderated and lead by distinguished leaders including Kyle Zimmer, CEO of First Book; Dr. Kiko Suarez, Vice President and Senior Advisor to the CEO at Lumina Foundation; Dr. Kenneth Moritsugu, Chair Emeritus of Ideagen; Sidhant Gupta, Chair of the Ideagen Board - Microsoft; and Leslie Short, Head of Global Initiatives & Special Projects at The Shark Group and CEO of KIM LLC.

Panel members and table leaders included by Maurizio Vecchione, SVP Global Good and Research at Intellectual Ventures (Host Partners for the Global Good Summit).  Dr. Martha Bernadett, EVP Research and Innovation at Molina Healthcare and Founder of The Molina Foundation; Jennifer Kawar, Vice President and Chief Investment Officer of Nonprofit Finance Fund; Steve Scranton, National Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at World Vision; Adam Treiser, CEO at Arjuna Solutions;  Naomi Whittel, CEO of Twinlab; Dr. Eliza Chin, Executive Director of American Medical Women’s Association; Stacy Haller, President and CEO of BrightFocus Foundation; Kim Smith, Chief Digital Officer at Capgemini; Megan Bettilyon, Senior Manager of Planning and Operations at Global Good and Research at Intellectual Ventures; Simon Bland, Director of New York UNAIDS; Kyle Zimmer, CEO of First Book; James Keach, CEO of PCH Films; and Chantal Line Carpentier, Chief of New York UNCTAD.

The world’s leading companies, NGO’s and public sector addressed many of the world’s most vexing issues ranging from global health, education, workforce and technology, sharing their ideas about developing solutions of Global Good through cross-sector collaborations. The focus was on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically goal #17, Partnerships for the Goals.

George Sifakis, Founder and CEO of Ideagen together with Maurizio Vecchione, SVP Global Good & Research at Intellectual Ventures and Chairman of the Ideagen Impact Leader Council, outlined the importance of cross sector innovation and collaboration including social impact with a specific focus on the Sustainable Development Goals. The Global Grand Challenge was issued, through Ideagen design thinking phase, to build a framework for development of metrics to measure the impact of cross-sector partnerships leading up to the third Annual Global Good Summit in Seattle in 2017 with a specific focus on the collective impact of Ideagen's members on the UN SDG Goals 9, 12 and 17.
