Deloitte hosted 88 college students chosen from 1,600 applicants for its fifth annual Maximum Impact: Alternative Spring Break program. For this year’s initiative, Deloitte teamed up with United Way and Teach for America to offer tutoring programs in Memphis and volunteer projects in Atlanta. Maximum Impact enables top-tier undergraduates who are preparing for careers in accounting to volunteer time and skills while connecting with Deloitte professionals.
GLOBE Advisors and its research partner, the Center for Climate Strategies, have released the West Coast Clean Economy Report, a study of the accelerated investment and job creation in the province of British Columbia and in the states of California, Oregon, and Washington. The report concludes that a cleaner economy is well established throughout the West Coast region, accounting for $47 billion and 500,000 full time jobs in 2010. The study was commissioned by the Pacific Coast Collaborative, a partnership of the four above jurisdictions.
