Subaru has partnered with United by Blue, the ocean-friendly apparel brand. UBB removes a pound of trash from oceans and waterways for every product sold. The Subaru Outback will serve as the official UBB cleanup vehicle.
The UN Convention to Combat Desertification has announced the semi-finalists for its first “Land for Life Award.” The Award recognizes efforts that promote the natural health and productivity of the earth’s soil. The 15 semi-finalists were chosen from more than 100 applications from 52 countries. Three winners will share a prize of $100,000 and will be announced at the Rio + 20 conference next month.
The Coca-Cola Foundation has donated $500,000 to the Abyssinian Development Corporation, a Harlem-based economic development organization. The funds will establish a student media center within the Bread and Roses Integrated Arts High School.
