Event Supported Major League Soccer’s 5th Annual Greener Goals Week of Service in Celebration of Earth Day

In support of Major League Soccer’s (MLS) 5th Annual Greener Goals Week of Service to celebrate Earth Day, AEG’s LA Galaxy partnered with Garden School Foundation to donate and distribute more than 300 bags of produce to Leapwood Avenue Elementary School’s students, staff, and families in Carson, CA. The Garden School Foundation provides in-depth garden-based education to youth at Title I schools in Los Angeles, strengthening connections between food justice, environmental stewardship, and community health.
On April 7, the LA Galaxy made a wish come true for Chance, a 17-year-old teenager from Granada Hills, who was able to attend the LA Galaxy’s first team training session at Dignity Health Sports Park. Chance who is bravely battling epilepsy, received a once-in-a-lifetime surprise through the club’s partnership with Make-A-Wish.
Chance’s wish to attend an LA Galaxy training session was granted, giving him an opportunity to watch a Galaxy training session up close, meet all his favorite players and coaching staff and have a private tour of the sports complex.

In recognition of Earth Month, AEG has partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 10,000 trees to support reforestation projects in Alabama and Michigan. AEG operates venues and music festivals in both states, including two of the company’s premier music festivals Hangout Music Festival and Electric Forest. The partnership coincides with the 50th anniversary of the Arbor Day Foundation and the 150th anniversary of the Arbor Day holiday.
In celebration of Earth Month, AEG’s LA Kings partnered with the Anaheim Ducks and Ryan’s Recycling Company to host a beach cleanup in Long Beach Calif. on Tuesday, April 5. Together more than 125 LA Kings and Anaheim Ducks team members spent the day collecting more than 490 pounds of trash and recyclable items.
In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Women@AEG employee network group hosted a career exploration event “Women in Sports and Entertainment” for more than 25 female students from the nonprofit organizations Our Own and Brotherhood Crusade as part of the AEG Futures Career Exploration program.
Three of AEG’s Foundations -- Dignity Health Sports Park ASCSC Community Foundation, the LA Galaxy Foundation and the Kings Care Foundation -- partnered with the Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation, AT&T and Becca’s Closet to host a pop-up prom dress giveaway “Yes! That’s My Dress” extravaganza at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA on Thursday, March 31.
Julian Araujo, a soccer player for AEG’s LA Galaxy, received the Mayor’s Community Athlete of the Year Award from the LA Sports Council at the The 17th Annual LA Sports Awards, which celebrates the best in sports in greater Los Angeles. Araujo received the award for his outstanding work in the community.
AEG’s Tamala Lewis was honored by U.S. Soccer Federation as the official U.S. Soccer She Believes Ambassador for her work in the community during the U.S. Women’s National Team match for the SheBelieves Cup tournament that was held at Dignity Health Sports Park.
In honor of Women’s History Month, soccer players’ wives, girlfriends, and mothers from AEG’s LA Galaxy, along with the team mascot, Cozmo, visited the Women’s Shelter of Long Beach and prepared more than 50 gift bags filled with a variety of cosmetic and self-care products including makeup, body lotion, shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash, tooth paste and mouth wash. The goal was simple, to empower women at the shelter and make sure no one goes without basic needs.
On March 3, 2022, Tamala Lewis, senior director of community affairs at AEG’s Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif. was honored by the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce’s at the Chamber’s 2022 Women of Influence Luncheon where she received an Inspirational Leader Award.
