AEG, the world’s leading sports and live entertainment company, announced today that the company has once again received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2021 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s premier benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality. AEG joins the ranks of more than 767 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year.
On December 6, 2020, AEG’s Dignity Health Sports Park partnered with the Carson Boys & Girls Club to spread holiday cheer during a drive-thru toy giveaway. More than 1,000 children from Carson, Long Beach, Watts, Los Angeles and Rancho Dominguez received toys during the drive-thru event at Dignity Health Sports Park. The toy drive supported more than 650 families in need in the Los Angeles area.
The LA Kings (NHL), and their long-standing exclusive financial services sponsor, Wells Fargo are joining forces to help students in need across Los Angeles with the launch of “Team Up For Tech” - a new initiative designed to help address the educational needs of underserved youth, many of whom are learning remotely this year. “Team Up for Tech,” will support students in underserved local communities and help combat the technological barriers of distance learning with the donation of mobile Wi-Fi hotspots, headphones and Chromebooks.
On November 22, 2020, Dignity Health Sports Park partnered with Kinecta Federal Credit Union to support South Bay families in need through Kinecta’s 47th Annual Holiday Food Drive. This year’s event was done as a drive-thru to ensure everyone’s safety amid the coronavirus pandemic. The families receive bags of traditional Thanksgiving food items, including rice and stuffing mix, along with a $75 gift certificate. In total, more than 1,000 families — some selected by the community-based organizations — received bags.
Between October 23 and 31, 2020, AEG’s LA Kings will host a virtual Halloween 5K with proceeds benefitting Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), a longstanding partner of the team’s charitable arm, Kings Care Foundation. The event encourages fans to dress-up in their favorite hockey-themed Halloween Costumes to raise money for the hospital’s Blood Donor Center.
The LA Kings, Los Angeles Lakers, LA Sparks, STAPLES Center, AEG and the Los Angeles County Registrar Recorder/County Clerk have announced that STAPLES Center will serve as a Vote Center in the upcoming Presidential General Election for 11 days, the maximum number of days the County will facilitate in-person voting.
