Domestic Violence Victims Get New Option For Connecting To Help

Verizon donates $250,000 to help launch online chat service

Austin, Texas,  Oct. 30, 2013 /3BL Media/ – The National Domestic Violence Hotline (NDVH) announced today that visitors to TheHotline.org looking for information or help will now be able to chat live online with advocates thanks to a $250,000 donation from Verizon, through its HopeLine program. The organization also learned that it has the opportunity to receive an additional $250,000 in matching funds through a national wireless phone drive.

Grants Awarded to Domestic Violence Organizations in Alabama


One corporation is giving thousands of dollars in grants to programs which help victims of domestic violence in Alabama.

Verizon announced $95,000 in grant funding to a number of Alabama domestic violence prevention organizations, during  First Lady Dianne Bentley's Domestic Violence Awareness Month Candlelight Vigil Tuesday evening.

The event brought together dozens of advocates, law enforcement officers and victim support workers for an event honoring victims and energizing those who provide support and prevention services.
