AEG’s LA Galaxy Foundation joined the fight against hunger and food insecurity in Los Angeles through weeklong support of Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. Throughout the week of Oct. 9, LA Galaxy staff members and fans collected more than 700 pounds of food and prepared and distributed nearly 4,000 meals to children, families, seniors and individuals in need throughout the Los Angeles area.
AARP named an Official Community Sponsor of the Club
LOS ANGELES, October 25, 2017 /3BL Media/ – The five-time MLS Cup winning team, the LA Galaxy and AARP have entered into a multiyear agreement that names AARP an official and community sponsor. The agreement, brokered by AEG Global Partnerships, is AARP’s first in Major League Soccer and is the foundation for a joint campaign, “The Game Unites Us” (in Spanish: “El Juego Nos Une”). Community building and unification are very important to AARP’s work in California and nationwide, and both principles were catalysts in planning for this collaboration.
Week-long LA Galaxy Academy program will bring soccer, technology, art and math to middle school students across Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, October 25, 2017 /3BL Media/ – Five-time Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup champions, the LA Galaxy, and Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), a private nonprofit university and the exclusive education partner of the club, came together this week to give 250 middle school students across Los Angeles the opportunity to take part in an exclusive supplemental curriculum called LA Galaxy STEAM (Soccer, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math).
In celebration of National Bullying Prevention Month and through its partnership with Playworks, a nonprofit organization promoting the power of play for children before, during and after school, AEG’s LA Galaxy Foundation (LAGF) teamed up with the nonprofit for the launch of its “Real Players Don't Bully” online campaign. In an effort to highlight bullying prevention and “positive play,” LA Galaxy players posed in the campaign shirts for photos which were then shared to the team’s social media accounts, reaching more than 450K followers.
AEG’s LA Galaxy Foundation, in partnership with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), unveiled a brand-new community soccer field in Watts, Los Angeles at 109th Street Recreation Center on Wednesday, Oct. 11. The new turf mini-pitch opened in conjunction with the City of Los Angeles, Department of Recreation and Parks, and LAPD Southeast Division to provide a safe place for the local Watts community to play soccer.
