Working in unison with our stakeholders, we believe that Las Vegas Sands can make a meaningful difference to the quality of our environment, multiplying our positive impacts both now and into the future. Through Sands ECO360, we are on a sustainability journey, and we want our more than 50,000 Team Members to be a part of it. In pursuit of that journey, we’ve set a goal of performing one million Sands ECO360 actions—positive, measurable environmental improvements—by the end of 2020. With more than 900,000 ECO360 actions taken so far, we’re well on our way to achieving our goal.
Las Vegas Sands is committed to the fight against youth homelessness in our corporate headquarters and throughout the country by fostering relationships with local and national nonprofits, such as Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY), HELP of Southern Nevada’s Shannon West Homeless Youth Center and now the Lost in America Foundation. With the soon-to-be-released documentary film, Lost in America, director Rotimi Rainwater has created a movement to cast a wide lens on the issue of youth homelessness in America through the power of mainstream media.
The third annual Southern Nevada Youth Homelessness Summit, presented by Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY) and Sands Cares, takes place Thursday, November 7 at The Venetian Resort. Ahead of Summit 19, NPHY Executive Director Arash Ghafoori spoke to us about the issue of youth homelessness, how the Summit addresses the issue and about the importance of NPHY’s partnership with Sands and others.

In February of this year, Sands Cares helped Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY) launch its Housing Expansion Campaign to generate funds for a new facility that will provide much-needed beds for homeless youth in Southern Nevada. Sands provided a $100,000 seed investment to the campaign and also served as a catalyst for recruiting the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation to join the effort.
On World Oceans Day, The Venetian Resort Las Vegas announced a sustainable seafood partnership with FishWise, an innovative and solutions-driven industry leader providing data-driven market tools and expertise in sustainability, human rights action, and traceability best practices.
Since 2015, Las Vegas Sands has invested more than $4 million in homelessness-related issues and has become a champion for tackling youth homelessness, in particular, as co-founder of the Southern Nevada Youth Homelessness Summit with long-time partner Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth (NPHY).
This fall, Sands is amplifying its advocacy for youth homelessness to help drive a national conversation around the issue with financial backing for Lost In America, a feature documentary film scheduled for release by Indican Pictures in November 2019.
