Construction took place on September 28 and 29 with more than 30 JetBlue crewmembers from Colombia and other cities in the airline’s network
BOGOTÁ, Colombia, October 1, 2019 /3BL Media/ – On September 28 and 29 JetBlue (NASDAQ: JBLU) completed a volunteer project with the non-profit organization, TECHO, in Cazucá-Soacha in Bogotá, Colombia building houses for families in need. TECHO seeks to build a fair, integrated, and poverty-free society, where everyone has the opportunities needed to develop their capacities and fully exercise their rights. This initiative is part of JetBlue For Good – the airline's platform for social impact and corporate responsibility.
NextGen is the FAA’s ongoing navigation system upgrade, which includes a switch from traditional ground-based to satellite-enabled navigation. This combination of FAA- and airline-specific technology allows flights to be given more efficient and uniquely optimized routes anywhere in the National Airspace System. NextGen makes this possible during all stages of the flight: departure, cruising altitude, approach, and arrival operations. The FAA anticipates that the fully completed system will save 16 million metric tons of CO2 e emissions annually.

They were joined by Queens Borough President Melinda Katz, Assemblywoman Alicia Hyndman and Council Member Jimmy Van Bramer, Chair of the Libraries Committee.
