Wrapping up our 10th annual Safety Month celebration
Throughout June, our employees displayed their commitment to being Safer and Stronger Together, making our 10th annual Safety Month a huge success. This month is a time to reinforce our Health & Safety practices that support a strong safety culture year-round. As we reflect on Safety Month, let’s look for ways to incorporate what we learned in our daily work and lives.
Engaging our employees in our strong safety culture this Safety Month
Tetra Tech’s employee participation and engagement are vital to the success of our Health & Safety program—we strive to engage more employees each year during Safety Month. We believe a successful safety program must include engaging employees in various safety processes at all levels.
When employees are well informed about safety practices in their workplace, they are more aware of their surroundings. Research shows that 70 percent fewer safety incidents occur in highly engaged workplaces, which is a win-win for both employees and employers.
Sharing learnings about cost reductions and innovations made in decommissioning projects
TotalDECOM released its Cross-Industry Learnings report in June 2020, sponsored by Tetra Tech. It offers a thorough look at the cost reductions and innovations made in decommissioning across sectors, including oil and gas, energy, and nuclear, that increase productivity and deliver economic growth.
Addressing the four types of hazards that most frequently result in injury to our employees
Tetra Tech’s Focus Four Injury Prevention Program (FOCUS 4) is a foundational component of our Health & Safety program. FOCUS 4 addresses the four types of hazards that most frequently result in injury to our employees. For Safety Month, we want to show how we are Safer and Stronger Together by ensuring everyone is aware of these hazards and can take the necessary precautions to avoid them.
Our goals for this program are that each employee is aware of the FOCUS 4 program, understands what it means, recognizes these hazards, and the common controls that can be applied.
