This month, Action Team Captains from Brunswick, Me., made their annual trip via ferry to Peaks Island, to spruce up one of Volunteers of America’s affordable senior housing facilities.

Despite strong winds and crisp temperatures, Captains boarded the ferry that afternoon after school, and took the 20-minute trip to Fay Garman House, where they then broke off into groups to assist with yard work, organizing the library and children’s center and cleaning up outside the elementary school.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., September 23, 2013 /3BL Media/ – The City of Springfield, Massachusetts and Eastman Chemical Company today dedicated the Congressman Richard E. Neal Indian Orchard Community Park. Located at 1708 Page Boulevard, the park has always been an important green space to the citizens of Springfield.

The 18 acre park has been an integral part of the Indian Orchard community for over fifty years. After acquiring Solutia, Inc. in 2012, Eastman continued the ongoing work to donate the private park to the City of Springfield.

GE donates $1.5 million to Mill River Park

GE Asset Management donated over $1 million for the building of the centre of Mill River Park in Stamford Connecticut. Since 2003, the Mill River Collaborative has been spearheading a $60 million rejuvenation to create a 28-acre recreational and green space in the heart of the downtown. The objective is to open the park to the public by the end of 2012 and so far, the nonprofit agency has raised more than $4 million from corporations, foundations and individuals. GE has also been a significant contributor to the city's public school system, donating more than $25 million over the past seven years.
