At the BSR Conference 2015, we sat down with plenary speakers and sustainability thought leaders to discuss their thoughts on resilience in their organizations and on what defines resilient leadership.

Leila Janah is the CEO of Sama Group, a social entrepreneurship organization that helps people living in poverty enter the economy through training and work doing basic tasks—such as image tagging and data entry—at the bottom of the new digital supply chains.

In a plenary address at the BSR Conference 2015, The Rockefeller Foundation President Judith Rodin explored how resilience can help build a better world, and why companies need to examine how risk plays into their business models.

“While it’s true that small challenges are good test that can lead to transformations, business should be taking deliberate, planned, and proactive risks rather than being in the place of reacting," Rodin said.

In a plenary address at the BSR Conference 2015, Tom Linebarger, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cummins Inc., explored how resilience can help build a better world.

“If we have the opportunity and are provided with leadership responsibility, we should work to make the world a more just and sustainable place,” Linebarger said.

Following his address, Linebarger joined a conversation with John Hodges, Managing Director, Advisory Services, BSR, and answered live questions from BSR Conference participants and Twitter.
