TORRANCE, Calif. Sept. 19, 2013 /3BL Media/– Toyota Motor North America (TMA) today announced the appointment of Latondra Newton to chief corporate social responsibility officer, effective immediately.
Prior to her new appointment, Newton served as chief diversity officer, where she oversaw philanthropy, the Toyota USA Foundation and corporate diversity and inclusion strategy.
Eight school districts in Lee, Union and Pontotoc counties are upgrading with $1 million in grant money from Toyota.
The first Toyota Wellspring Education Fund grants will add computers and other technology to classrooms, build thetechnology backbone in some districts and expand access to pre-kindergarten and tutoring programs in others.

Dash®, a three-year pilot program, will offer short distance transportation options for both employer’s business needs and for their carpool, vanpool and public transportation commuters once they arrive to the park for work. The unique fleet is made up of Scion iQ EV electric vehicles, which are designed specifically for the carsharing market.
