Three-year grant partnership aimed at improving behavioral and primary health care access for students and adults
MINNETONKA, Minn., July 29, 2021 /3BL Media/ – The United Health Foundation, the philanthropic foundation of UnitedHealth Group (NYSE: UNH), has established a three-year, $3.3 million grant partnership with the North Olympic Healthcare Network (NOHN), a federally qualified health center (community health center) serving Clallam County. NOHN will help to improve access to care with the goal of improving behavioral health for children and adults in the Port Angeles area.
Widespread health disparities persisted across racial, ethnic, gender, geographic and educational lines before COVID-19 pandemic, according to America’s Health Rankings Health Disparities Report.

Preventive screenings and services are an important step in enhancing people’s health and quality of life, and are critical to improving the overall health system. The 2016 America’s Health Rankings® Spotlight: Prevention report, published by the United Health Foundation and co-released with the American College of Preventive Medicine, shines an important light on the gaps in use of preventive services and areas for health system improvement.
The smiles were brighter than the Florida sunshine at our February 25th event celebrating the six-month anniversary of the opening of the Southwest Dental Clinic of Alachua County! As part of the festivities, United Health Foundation partnered with the Florida Department of Health in Alachua County, the Southwest Advocacy Group Family Resource Center (SWAG) and the Partnership for Strong Families to offer free children’s dental screenings in honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month.
This week, UnitedHealth Group launched its newly enhanced employee giving and volunteering program – giving!. The program evolved to meet employees’ desires for greater choice and flexibility and now supports them in more ways that they choose to give back to the communities where they live and work.
United Health Foundation and Whole Kids Foundation will provide $150,000 in the first round of grants to support innovative projects nationwide that will improve children’s health and nutrition. This first round of grants is partly funded by United Health Foundation’s $500,000 contribution to the Whole Kids Foundation.
