Gildan Launches Third Annual Fundraising Campaign in Canada With Centraide
Gildan is excited to launch its third consecutive Centraide fundraising campaign within its Montreal offices. The funds raised during this campaign will help to support over 350 community agencies in the Greater Montreal area that work to support youth success, take care of the essentials, break social isolation and build caring communities.
“I am very pleased to launch the campaign this year with new and engaging fundraising activities,” said Rhodri Harries, Executive Vice-President, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. “At Gildan, we believe it is important to be active participants of the communities where we operate. We are committed to supporting programs that help develop people with the skills and capabilities to create a better life for themselves and their families.”
Last year, Gildan contributed over CAD $90,000 to Centraide through its employees’ direct donations and the proceeds from various campaign activities, which were matched by Gildan. These funds helped support the Centraide organization in Montreal to break the cycle of poverty and social exclusion. Centraide supports a network of dynamic agencies and projects that bring people together according to each community’s needs with the goal of improving quality of life. In Greater Montreal, one out of seven people receives support from an agency in Centraide’s network.
