Cancer Survivor Sean Swarner Teams Up with LIVESTRONG On Pole Adventure
(3BL Media/Justmeans) - People who fight cancer need epic amounts of will power to face up the challenges that come with a diagnosis and the treatment, when it is available. It is an uphill battle which cancer survivor and motivator Sean Swarner in April will act out literally as his journeys to the North Pole to complete “The Explorer’s Grand Slam".
Swarner will be summitting the seven highest peaks and both poles. What's more, he will be doing that with only one functioning lung, making him the first cancer survivor to complete this route. In partnership with cancer foundation LIVESTRONG, Swarner is currently fundraising through his Mission of Hope project as he takes more than 100,000 names of people affected by cancer as a message for those people who are going through a similar challenge in treatments and the general impact of the disease on their lives.
The campaign will accept donations that will be passed on to various cancer charities, including LIVESTRONG and Sean’s own organization, the CancerClimber Association.
“Bringing one hundred thousand people to the top of the world is something that’s never been done before, and I am so excited to, literally, lift these individuals up higher than they ever thought possible," Swarner said in a statement.
Those who would like to contribute to the campaign and put a name on the flag can go here.
