Members of Keep America Beautiful’s headquarters’ staff joined volunteers from Liberty International Underwriters (LIU) and the National Park Service to beautify the north end of Ellis Island in New York Harbor.
The Ellis Island project was the third of three events hosted for Liberty International Underwriters volunteers this year.

East Side Partnership, the driving force in promoting the transformation of Stamford's East Side for more than a decade, joined iconic national community improvement nonprofit Keep America Beautiful in cleaning up, greening up and beautifying various locations during the Stamford Great American Cleanup event.
Earlier this month, members of the Arrow Electronics Toronto-based sales team donated their time to cook and serve dinner for more than 150 people at the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) location in downtown Toronto. The Arrow team arranged the event, purchased the provisions, and prepared and served a multicourse meal to families currently calling the facility home.

Xylem CEO Patrick Decker and Xylem volunteers discuss the importance of Xylem Watermark’s partnership with Planet Water Foundation on World Water Day and throughout the year. Planet Water Foundation’s Project 24, an ambitious undertaking on World Water Day, built 24 AquaTowers in 24 communities in just 24 hours. These projects reached a total of 24,000 people.
Xylem employees inspire students about science, the environment and water with practical, hands-on field experience. As part of EarthEcho International’s Water Challenge (formerly World Water Monitoring Challenge), students take on a real life science experiment, testing local water sources to better understand global water issues.

Summer vacation has begun for so many of us, but I am still thinking about the 520 high school seniors who received diplomas this month from our school, with 64 percent headed to four-year colleges and universities.
