Sands Academy, in conjunction with Las Vegas Sands’ effort to remain committed to Team Members and their advancement in the hospitality industry, conducted a workshop highlighting Communication for Leaders as part of their Elevate Series for Managers and Supervisors. The course covered team building, effective coaching and effective feedback.
In keeping with Las Vegas Sands commitment to providing Team Members with an outstanding work environment and extensive training and other opportunities to advance, Sands Academy hosted property managers and supervisors for a workshop about Effective Feedback. Conducted by Stephanie McHugh, Senior Manager of Talent Development, the workshop focused on positive and negative feedback for Team Members.

WASHINGTON D.C., July 13, 2017 /3BL Media/ – The Edison Electric Institute (EEI) awarded Duke Energy the top honor in the electric utility association’s 2017 Business Diversity Awards program.
The annual awards program recognizes companies for their efforts in advancing purchasing opportunities for diverse suppliers – including minority-, female-, veteran- and LGBTQ-owned businesses within the electric power industry.
Duke Energy earned the industry’s overall Excellence Award for its efforts to improve business diversity and inclusion.
Through Sands Academy, Las Vegas Sands provides Team Members with an outstanding working environment, extensive training and other opportunities to advance in the hospitality industry. In the hospitality industry, performance management ensures that goals are consistently being met in an effective and efficient manner by teams in various departments. Taught by Ian Thompson, Director of Talent and Organizational Development, the workshop focused on how to motivate and help Team Members become a member of a high performance team.
Last month, 180 top-performing Arrow Electronics employees from around the world gathered with senior management for the company’s annual President’s Club meeting, which honors individual employees who made significant contributions to the company during the prior business year.
In conjunction with the Learning and Development courses offered to all Team Members, Sands Academy has established the Elevate Series. The series focuses on providing the tools for leaders to set the example for their Team Members and building relationships to ensure success within their teams. The Elevate Series offers four classes that are mandatory for all Supervisors and Managers with one that is mandatory for all Directors to offer support in various areas.
