Aaradhana Jhunjhunwala 14 January 2009 The model you have created is simple and aims to become self-sustainable. The real test will come when you run pilots as I feel you will have to make some provision for funds in case an entrepreneurial ventures either don't take off/ take off but cannot pay back the community centre the stipulated amount within a given period of time. It is a good starting point to promote community development and nurture small business ideas. All the best!

Jane Byrd 2 January 2009 Mother Earth Is Waiting for Us, There's a Debt We Have to Pay... Consumer Credit Card Debt for Nature Swaps:
More than any single thing in your current CSR report, I am most inspired by the founders' basic decision to commit the company's business to serving unto the 7th generation. We know that our current consumption rates are bankrupting the carrying capacity of the natural world upon which all life depends. And yet we continue consuming as if this bubble will never burst. Audrey Henderson 1 January 2009 I would like to clarify my original idea, and how I would propose to spend the $5000 reward. Basically, I am proposing a best practices/benchmarking system focused on the following four areas to promote more sustainable air travel 1) Develop related technology to make planes more ecologically viable, such as lighter materials for building planes as I mentioned above. One promising area is algae-based jet fuel, which has been in research development at several companies for years. |

Rodney Shakespeare 1 January 2009 Solaroof has huge potential for anything from sustainable living space to growing algae for clean energy generation.
Richard Nelson is an inspiration. Rodney Shakespeare |

Paula Hill 1 January 2009 Excellent idea. Our public high schools need all the help they can get. The business community needs to stop complaining about our underfunded and ineffective system and commit TIME to hands-on mentoring and training.

Chris Kennett 1 January 2009 Richard Nelson has been a leading proponent of solaroof technology for many years. Its about time that solaroof technology was made available as a sustainable way forward.
My company veggiepower.co.uk hopes that solaroof technology will promote the use of sustainabily grown vegetable oil as a complete fuel, so that a lot less energy is wasted in the production of Bio Diesel. Chris Kennett |
