GALVESTON, Texas, March 28, 2018 /3BL Media/ – Rebuilding Together, the leading home and community revitalization national nonprofit organization, announced that renovations have been completed at the Boys & Girls Club of Galveston, located at 4420 Avenue P. Repairs have been performed over the last few months, culminating with an unveiling event today, made possible by a donation from HGTV’s fifth season of Brother vs. Brother.

This season, Brother vs. Brother followed Jonathan and Drew Scott as they competed to buy, renovate and sell a Galveston home — each with $600,000 to spend. Refereed by their older brother JD, Jonathan and Drew battled to win weekly challenges by impressing an illustrious panel of HGTV and DIY Network expert guest judges. In the end, the brother with the highest net profit after his home’s sale emerged victorious in the competition – and this season, Drew ultimately bested his twin brother Jonathan.

The donation was used for critical repairs to the Boys & Girls Club of Galveston, to ensure that young people can continue to benefit from its services, enabling them to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. Repairs completed prior to the ribbon-cutting include relocating walls and doors to create a more usable space, installing new flooring, and providing furniture, among other upgrades.

“Through our partnership with HGTV, we have positively impacted the lives of thousands of our neighbors in need around the country,” said Caroline Blakely, President and CEO of Rebuilding Together. “With the continued support of Jonathan and Drew Scott, we can now strengthen the future of Galveston and ensure its young residents remain connected to their community.”

Christine Holland, Executive Director of Rebuilding Together Houston, added, “We are very thankful to the Scott Brothers for the significant donation from the sale of their remodeled homes--with it we are able to directly impact the Galveston community. For Galveston Island, the Boys & Girls Club is an important resource for families in need; it empowers young people and provides a safe and nurturing gathering place. We’re thrilled for the opportunity to help a fellow nonprofit and ultimately bolster the Galveston community with the rebuilding work we do.”

Since 2007, Rebuilding Together and HGTV have partnered to revitalize communities across the country, providing critical repairs for both people in need and community centers, and have engaged more than 3,200 volunteers, impacting the lives of thousands of people across the country.
