NEW YORK, December 10, 2019 /3BL Media/ – Register now for a live webinar with Entergy, a leading utility that provides electricity to 2.9 million people across the southern U.S., to learn about climate planning and action in the coming decade.
Participants will hear from Entergy’s Rick Johnson, director of corporate sustainability, and Ann Day Becker, senior manager of corporate sustainability, as they discuss climate change risks and opportunities to the business. In 2001, Entergy was the first U.S. utility to voluntarily set a goal to cap CO2 emissions. Entergy’s new 2030 goal is to achieve a 50% reduction in its GHG emission rate from a 2000 level by 2030.
Robbie Lock, executive director of 3BL Association, will moderate the discussion, which will include these topics:
Understanding climate risks and TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) scenario analysis
- Aligning to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and 13 (Climate Action)
Evaluating decarbonization opportunities for a utility and its customers
Leveraging partnerships to achieve decarbonization objectives
“3BL Media is excited to host a discussion on Entergy’s climate change strategy,” Lock said. “Utilities will play a critical role in decarbonizing our electricity supply over the next decade, while also helping customers prepare for and be resilient to climate risk—we are encouraged by Entergy’s in-depth approach to climate planning and action.”
